ADVOCATE VA: ADVOCATING JUSTICE REFORM
Advocating for Criminal Justice Reform in the State of Virginia, and providing valuable resources to friends and families of incarcerated individuals.
Our current main focus, apart from providing resources for families is seeking patronage of an amendment to Code of Virginia § 18.2-58.
Help us advocate to remove felony robbery convictions from the list of exemptions of the Good Time Bill and to fight for the reinstatement of parole in the State of Virginia. Join us to raise awareness of inmate rights, and to shed light on the urgency of ending discrimination through rehumanizing and seizing of prexisting biases. Incarceration is meant to be reformative, and to act as a guiding tool to enact change amongst the population who are, or have been housed by the State. Should individuals see a benefit to reform or be provided with a reason to enact personal change, they will actively take the required steps to do so. Currently, there are no incentives and harsh punitive sentences that far surpass norms of comparable states. These harsh sentencing regulations only go to further penalize a demographic, that current justice reform has set out to rectify, and where extenuating circumstances are not considered upon conviction.
Justice should be reformative, on that we can all agree. We ask that you help us champion these causes.
Please help us continue the changes needed for honest and accountable criminal justice reform within the State of Virginia.

HELP US PROGRESS CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM IN THE STATE OF VIRGIIA
HELP US FIGHT FOR AN AMENDMENT TO CODE OF VIRGINIA § 18.2-58.
Help those with Felony Robbery become eligible for Good Time Credits by amending Code of Virginia § 18.2-58 (Please remember that this is not an amendment to the Good Time Bill). This is our opportunity to push for further criminal justice reform in the State of Virginia. This is only the beginning of our journey. We seek further improvements and amendments to the current system that will enhance the lives of those currently serving time in the state, as well as help their loved ones waiting for them at home. Please help us advocate for this issue. Even if your loved one is not currently serving time for Robbery, join us in solidarity of this issue, let us band together to fight for change, so that further amendments and much needed progressive reform can follow suit.
