For those friends and families who utilize Access Securepak to send their friend or family member currently serving time in the State of Virginia Care Packages, it is almost time for the Quarterly Package Ordering window to open.
The ordering window commences on July 28th and close out for this round of ordering on August 26th. Please be aware that should you choose to snail mail in payment, the post mark on the envelope must be dated August 20th or before. Please note that your loved one can also snail mail in their request form alongside an institutional cheque, but please be aware that Access Securepak has a tendency to not stock in abundance, so if you are able to place your order via telephone or their website you stand a far better chance of not having substitutions or refunds issued.

To order for your loved one, you must create a login on the website and search for your friend or family member who is incarcerated in the State of Virginia.
However, one major cause of frustration with the company's website, is that unless it is during the window of time that the eligible program is being offered to your loved one, it will not allow you to search for them or their facility as they will not appear in their list of searchable options.
This means, that unless you already have an account, you will have to wait until the ordering window for the applicable package program, to create an account and subsequently add your friend or family member.
Please note that advocate VA is not affiliated with Access Securepak, and the intent of this post is for informational purposes only, should friends or family wish to utilize this service.

Advocate VA seeks to bridge the sizeable gap between legislators, legislative policy and those advocating for positive social change, inmate rights and progressive criminal justice reform in the State of Virginia. We are a non-partisan advocacy grassroots movement, which through collaboration with reputable advocacy groups and the private citizenry, seek to bring attention to the continued and longstanding bias of those currently incarcerated, while proactively assisting their peers and extended families petition for urgent criminal justice reform.
Our prime objective is to advocate for an intensive reevaluation of outdated policies and practices and to actively seek, and help others petition, for advance legislation, seeing to the continued and ongoing reform of Virginia's overtly harsh and punitive criminal justice system.
